August 9-13, 2010 For ages 12-16 years
5.5-day overnight camp that explores the skills and intricacies of backcountry travel while staying close to home. Over this trip we will backpack, paddle and camp along the length of the Eno River and the western end of Falls Lake.
Camp Activities: · Canoe and Kayak Instruction and packing techniques · Backpacking skills and packing techniques · Map and Compass Skills and route finding · Letterboxing and GPS GeoCache Treasure Hunts · Low Ropes Team Building Activities · Knot Tying · Leave-No-Trace Ethics Education · Stewardship Project · Journaling
Our Camps Guiding Principals - Set in a supportive and nurturing environment, activities are designed to educate campers about various outdoor skills and/or ecology, as well as challenge them in an effort to foster confidence and personal growth.
